Ethiopia Is the where coffee first used by people, it is treasured by the Ethiopian and used in daily bases. The coffee ceremony is a very important part of their tradition, it is a ritualized form of making and drinking coffee. The coffee ceremony was first practiced in Ethiopia and Eritrea on a daily basis for the purpose of getting together with relatives, neighbors, or other visitors in times of celebration. It is a sign of respect and friendship to be invited to a coffee ceremony, it is just like the Chinese making a good cup of tea to welcome their guests . Guests at a ceremony may discuss topics such as politics, community, and gossip. There is also abundant praise for the ceremony’s performer and the brews she produces.

There're minor differences on the format of the ceremony regardless of the time of day and occasion, it is always true that the coffee ceremony also serve one fundamental purpose, to thanks the coffee's spiritual properties which transformation of the spirit took place during the ceremony. That's why it is always three rounds as a whole of the coffee ceremony.
